Location
An Eco friendly resort, Ranweli Holiday Village is located on a 22-acre peninsula where winding rivers and mangrove forests meet the sea. The property is located about 18km away from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. Blending with the unique and natural environment, Ranweli's serene and idyllic location features indigenous fauna and flora, and borders the river from one side and the sandy beach on the other. The land was originally a coconut plantation which was surrounded by mangroves.
Accommodation
Ranweli Holiday Village offers guests bungalow type accommodation which has been constructed using local building materials in an ethnic style resembling a typical local village. Providing comfortable accommodation, there are 71 sea view bungalows, 12 river views bungalows and 1 cottage suitable for a peaceful holiday. Interior decor includes brass lamps, artefacts by local craftsmen, hand made local fabric and terra cotta pots. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a sitting area, ceiling fans, telephone and private bathrooms that are sunlit from an open court to provide natural lighting and ventilation. The bathrooms are also equipped with solar powered water heating.

Guests are offered delicious buffet and a la carte International and Sri Lankan cuisine at the hotel's restaurant while vegetarian meals are available upon request. In addition to the main restaurant, there is a small fruit stall "Palathuru Masse" serving fresh fruit drinks and herbal drinks that are of medicinal value.
