Dag 01 in Sigiriya

Aankomst op de internationale luchthaven van Colombo om TBA uur. Hier wordt u opgewacht door een aangewezen chauffeurgids van Lakpura Travels. Na de formaliteiten op de luchthaven wordt u begeleid naar uw auto met airconditioning en rijdt u naar Sigiriya. (Reistijd: 3 tot 4 uur)

Grottempels van Dambulla

Betreed de historische grotten van de Gouden Tempel van Dambulla, die dateert uit de 1e eeuw voor Christus. Bekijk de oude muurschilderingen die het levensverhaal van Lord Gautama Boeddha uitbeelden. Kijk naar de honderden beeldjes van Boeddha en andere goden verspreid over de vijf belangrijkste grotten. Bezoek de Grot van de Goddelijke Koning, de Grot van de Grote Koning en het Grote Nieuwe Klooster. Bekijk het gigantische gouden Boeddhabeeld op een kleine afstand buiten het grottencomplex.

Back of Beyond - Wild Haven, Dehigaha Ela

Een netwerk van rode aardwegen brengt je diep in afzondering, aangezien de chenateelt zich vermengt met hoog gras en dichte bossen. Hier ontdekten we een verlaten rijstveld dat delicaat groen was geworden van illukgras; een ronde open plek aan de voet van een heuvel, omringd door dicht bos op de brede bocht van twee beekjes. Een kleine geheime plek voor alle soorten dieren in het wild - olifanten, sambhur, vogels en vlinders - om te bezoeken

Dag 02 in Sigiriya

Eco Lodge Dehigaha Ela

Trek langs de beek en neem een duik in de natuurlijke poelen. Dit is zonder twijfel de favoriete activiteit van bezoekers van Dehigaha Ela Eco Lodge. De koude en sprankelende Dehigaha Ela-stroom valt in de troebele warme Kiri Oya-rivier aan de rand van de lodge. Laat je masseren door het tuimelende water, laat de brutale vissen aan je tenen knabbelen of verdwijn gewoon in de koele waterpoelen

Dag 03 in Sigiriya

Rotsfort Sigiriya

Beklim het rotsfort uit de 5e eeuw na Christus, Sigiriya, waar koning Kasyapa regeerde. Loop door de ingang, omlijst door de poten van een leeuw, die heel toepasselijk is voor zijn naam, 'The Lion Rock'. Bekijk de prachtige, onvervagende muurschilderingen die Sigiriya beroemd hebben gemaakt. Beklim de steile trap om de terrastuinen en nog steeds werkende stortbakken te zien. Loop door de tunnels die naar het paleis leiden en krijg een gevoel van lang vervlogen tijden.

Vertrek

Na het ontbijt in het hotel checkt u uit en gaat u rechtstreeks naar Bandaranaike International Airport voor uw vertrek uit Sri Lanka na een onvergetelijke tijd op het eiland te hebben doorgebracht.

    Day 01 in Sigiriya

    Ideal for the nature lover, the first day you will proceed form the airport to Sigiriya and en route you will make a stop at the Dambulla Cave Temple which is full of paintings and small statues depicting its history. Then you will head towards the hotel which is an Eco friendly lodge in Dehigala Ela.

    Arrive at Colombo International Airport at TBA hrs. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from Lakpura Travels. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air-conditioned Car and proceed to Sigiriya. (Travel Time: 3 to 4 Hrs)

    Dambulla Cave Temples

    Enter the historic caves of the Golden Temple of Dambulla, dating back to the 1st century BC. View the ancient murals depicting the life story of Lord Gautama Buddha. Look at the hundreds of figurines of Buddha and other deities scattered throughout the five main caves. Visit the Cave of the Divine King, Cave of the Great King and the Great New Monastery. See the giant golden Buddha Statue just a little distance outside the cave complex.

    Back of Beyond - Wild Haven, Dehigaha Ela

    A network of red earth roads takes you deep into isolation as chena cultivation blends with high grass and thick forests. It is here that we discovered an abandoned paddy field that had become a delicate green of illuk grass; a circular clearing at the base of a hill, ringed by thick forest on the sweeping curve of two streams. A small secret place for all forms of wildlife - elephants, sambhur, birds and butterflies - to visit.

    Day 02 in Sigiriya

    Your entire day will be spent at the Wild Haven in Dehigala Ela which is dedicated to offer an eco friendly holiday that you will never forget. From cycling tours to bird watching, walks along chena farms, streams, boulders and caves to enjoying a dip in a natural pool that is along
    the stream - you will love it.

    Dehigaha Ela Eco Lodge

    Trek along the stream and have dip in the natural pools This, without doubt, is the favourite activity of visitors to Dehigaha Ela Eco Lodge. The cold and sparkling Dehigaha Ela stream falls into the murky warm Kiri Oya River at the edge of the lodge. Let the tumbling water massage you, allow the cheeky fish nibble at your toes, or just disappear in to the cool pools of water.

    Day 03 in Sigiriya

    The 3rd and final day, you will head to explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a World Heritage Site and a historical masterpiece. Standing nearly 200 meters in height, this massive rock fortress still has ruins of the palace on its pinnacle while there are wall paintings and beautifully landscaped gardens that you can explore.

    Sigiriya Rock Fortress

    Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where the King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion that is quite appropriate for its name, 'The Lion Rock'. View the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace as you get a feel for times long past.

    After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed directly to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure from Sri Lanka after spending a memorable time on the island.
